COURSE DURATION: 5 DAYS

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a topic of interest to educators who wish to learn more about how to include this topic into their courses and school curriculum utilizing modern approaches and classroom resources. PBL allows students to become more involved in their studies while also providing them with a better grasp of the subject matter by exposing them to a range of teaching approaches all at once.

With the help of this hands-on workshop, participants will learn about Project Based Learning, how to include it into their courses, and how to assess students using PBL. They will also reflect on how they may incorporate Project Based Learning into their own teaching methods.

When they finish this course, students will have learned more about teaching with PBL projects and how to incorporate it into their classes. They will learn how to incorporate PBL into their classroom and school curriculum, and they will grow more confidence in their own teaching and evaluations.

Participants will leave the course with a working PBL model and all of the components they need to carry out their project at their own school, which is an added bonus. Their confidence in initiating and starting future projects within their own school, local community, or with other teachers in the EU will grow, as will their knowledge of the PBL process.

DAILY PROGRAMME

Day 1- Introduction to project-based learning and course content

• Introduction to the subject matter of the course;
• Course, school, and extracurricular activities overview;
• Icebreaking activities;
• Project-based learning: an introduction;
• Looking at some real-world instances of project-based learning will help you better understand what it is;
• Establishing strategies to include PBL into the classroom;
• Organize your thoughts and get started on your own Personal Branding Lab (PBL) project;
• Presentations from the schools represented by the attendees.

Day 2- Project-based learning-related tasks

• A variety of PBL activities are shown;
  Leading the PBL project for students;
• Organizing activities in pairs and groups;
• Integrating media into the PBL;
• For PBL, it’s important to think about the ideal medium to use.

Day 3- A PBL Approach

• Managing PBL projects in a timely fashion;
• Assessment: Rubrics and Portfolios;
  Peer-to-peer evaluation;
• Self-assessment by students in the classroom.

Day 4- Creating a project-based learning lesson plan

• Making a comprehensive PBL lesson plan;
• Making sure your PBL lesson plan and rubric are complete;
• The brainstorming and discussion of PBL programs at the school level.

Day 5- The end of the course and the trip.

• The evaluation of the course includes a review of the skills and knowledge students have gained, as well as comments from the instructor and class discussion;
• The giving of the Certificate of Attendance upon course completion;
• Adventures and other cultural activities.
